In my grand tradition of not giving a fuck what any of you fuckers think, I've decided to do exactly what everybody expected me to.
I faxed in a contract today which will guarantee me large sums of money in return for, essentially, indentured servitude. As part of my daily struggle to serve Mammon better, I've agreed to work obscene hours and forgo any sort of "leisure", or "personal life".
Not to disparage my new found corporate overlords though, as the job itself, while nebulously defined and hideously stressful, appears to be extraordinarily cool. If I can survive even a couple of years, my kung-fu will be far more powerful than anything I've learned previously.

Employers, I think, are a great deal like women. If you're on your own, their interest is superficial at best, but as soon as one wants a piece of you, the others queue up like it's half of at the man store.
I went for five months with one phone interview, but after I got a legit offer last week, I've had three more requests to talk face to face. Let the bidding war begin!

After Double Overtime: 9 for 27. Watching that was pretty harsh, especially since Jordan is basically why I started watching basketball. The first game I ever really watched was the final game of the '98 playoffs, when Jordan hit that fadeaway with five seconds left for the win. It was craziness, and it was a great way to end his comeback.
I never really saw all that much of his play with the Wizards, and I think I'm glad...there's no way that man is fit to be on the floor.

Carter just gave up his starting spot. To Jordan. To broken down, should have stayed retired while he still had some fucking dignity, didn't even make the top ten in voting for forwards Jordan.
After weeks of standing his ground in the face of some intense criticism, he decided that he would in fact deliver that slap in the face to the fans that voted him in. What bothers me about this is that the criticism is coming entirely from the coaches and players. The people who actually watch the games, the people that this weekend's show is intended for, want to see Vince Carter. They wanted to see Jordan for 13 years, and it made for some sweet basketball, but Jordan didn't make the cut this year for a reason. Let the man go gracefully, and get on with it. I didn't see Jordan giving up his starting spot for Dr. J, that's for damn sure.

I'm not sure what possessed me to suggest cardio and upper legs on the same day, but I did, and now I want to die. Oh. The. Pain. Mmmmmm...pain.
